Basketball Birthday Cake

We bought Mikey a Little Tikes adjustable basketball stand for his 2nd birthday. I've never been the type to do much for birthday cakes, but this year I thought it'd be fun to put some thought into it. So, Mary, Emily and I did our best to make a basketball birthday cake for Michael. We baked the cake in an oven proof glass bowl to get the round shape. We had a lot of fun making it together.

  1. Awesome Job on the cake! That's like the way we did Jonathan's soccer ball birthday cake a few years ago. http://3boys-1girl.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html (scroll down)
When Seth saw this post he said, "Woa! I've never seen a basketball cake before!!"
Looks like a nice big kitchen. Happy birthday Mikey!

  2. Oh cool, looks a lot like the cake for JT. We lost the number 2 candle for his cake and didn't have any other candles around the house when it came time to sing Happy Birthday, so we had to stick two matches in it instead. ha ha. The kitchen is nice and big. I even have unused cupboard space.

  3. That's awesome to use matches! Whatever works! I found that it was a nice size of cake too - not too much. :)
