Recent Fun in Ory-gun

Now that I spend all my time in the books, when the weekends come we really take advantage.
A few weeks ago we checked out a park-like area, the Mt. Pisgah Arboretum, and had a good time with the kids. After some exploring, the kids took a break (it's hard work riding in a pack ya know...)
On the way home we stopped at a "u-pick" farm to grab some garden-licious tomatoes.

After the initial outing, Kari and I returned to hike the mighty Mt. Pisgah while some friends watched our kids. It took about 45 minutes to reach the summit. The view was great. You could see the whole Eugene/Springfield area and some pretty countryside.

  1. Looks gorgeous. How's the weather up there? Will you guys have snow for Christmas like we had snow for October?

  2. Weather so far up here has been pretty good, but apparently it will start raining soon and not stop until some time in the spring. So far most people are surprised that the rain hasn’t started yet this late in October. The locals also say that if snow ever comes its gone by noon. No snow = Adam is happy.

  3. That overlook looks a little like Pokey. We love our hills and beautiful fields.

I'm glad you are making some friends. We have some awesome friends here that we treat as family. It helps out a lot while we're so far away from family.
