Adam and I designated this man as Our "FAN of the GAME." We never saw him shout or cheer, but we could tell he was into it.
The seats were full by kick off, but most fans weren't sitting, at least not in the student section where Adam and I had the pleasure of standing. The college kids didn't hold anything back. If we bring our kids to the game, we'll be sitting far away from the students. Oregon defeated Washington 34 to 14.

That's how John and I dress up when we go to soccer games. . .
ReplyDeleteWe miss you guys!! That's cool that you went to a game :)
John and I went to a classical guitar concert last night by Lawrence Green. His talent was absolutely amazing. Isn't that who you took guitar lessons from Adam? We loved it.
You might call them lessons but it was mostly sitting in awe. I'd like to think I have a good ear, so listening to a song and then figuring out how to play it usually comes quick for me. During the time I was taking lessons I was also trying to figure out how to play a version I had of "The River is Wide." I had listened and tried to play along about a thousand times and just couldn't figure it out. I actually thought it was two guitars and that's why I couldn't do it. So I take it in to Larry. He listens to about the first minute, says something like, Oh that sounds like a DADGAD alternate tuning probably with capo on the second fret. He then picks up his guitar and plays it exactly as it sounded on the recording. Yeah. Like I said, more like sitting in awe...
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious. Pretty dang cool. At one point in the concert, mid song, he reached up and tuned a string without even missing a beat. I consider my ear to be pretty good too, but I hadn't noticed that one string was off. We wished you guys could've been with us!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that he could not only tune a string mid-song, but also tune to his liking that quickly. Talk about mastering a skill.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when you wrote that John and you dress up like our fan. I just couldn't see it, at least not the tattoos. It' fun to have a sports team that you can cheer for like crazy at a game.
By the way, the 9:38 pm post was by Kari.
