Michael's Baptism

Michael anticipated his baptism day long before it happened. Weeks before his baptism, he started asking when his baptism would be held.  Adam and I were having a difficult time deciding; we knew that most likely some of our family who live far away wouldn't be able to attend and we weren't ready to give up on trying to find a date that more family could attend. Because Michael was so anxious to see it happen, we decided to move forward with a May baptism that most of our family who live nearby could attend.
Adam and Michael dressed in white for the baptism, and Michael listened attentively and seriously while Grandma Carol shared a talk on the gift of the Holy Ghost, comparing its purposes to tools and their purposes. Grandma and Grandpa Anderson gave Michael a journal with a note written inside the cover encouraging him in his decision.  We are glad Michael has such supportive grandparents, and we are so proud of our boy, Michael.

Jauregui's Visit

Ivan and Marta came to Yakima Tuesday evening for a job interview.  James, Tess and I meet up with them early that morning to bring Marta and Alec back to our house to visit for the day.

They enjoyed seeing the country setting of our new home and town.  Marta and I visited, watched our kids busily making dirt soup, spraying the hose and playing in the sprinkler, riding tricycles around the patio, and helping me whip together a brownie mix.

Alec enjoyed trying to pull Robbie down for a wrestling match but Robbie wasn't so sure about wrestling with his little cousin. Maybe Robbie won't be so cautious when Alec is a little bigger.

(Tess is a little mama. She has asked me if she can babysit James while I run to the store or to the kids' schools.)

It was warm enough outside to put the kids in swimsuits for some sprinkler time. By the afternoon, we turned on a Thomas the Train show for some quiet time, and Grandma Carol stopped by to visit a little before Ivan returned from his interviews. He had good things to say, and we are all praying and optimistic it will turn into a job offer.   We would love for them to be living in Yakima.
