Sew Good

I put my sewing stuff away vowing to not pull it out again until summer was over and I had the time to finish a project I started. That all changed after Mary, Rob, and Annie came to visit. Mary is awesome at sewing and I really wanted to work on a project with her. She sewed Emily an adorable skirt, and that got me going on a few projects myself.

Market Skirts for the girls (Emily's made by Mary, Tessa's by me) turned out adorable. Michael loves his new Hobo Sack. Like the crisp look of "AKA Family"? I added this to a canvas bag made by a friend at limabean using freezer paper stenciling.

  1. They all look fabulous! It is a challenge to find the time to sew, but the results are so worthwhile. Great job!!

  2. I love all of it! I love sewing when I can find the time. The bags turned out awesome. Isn't freezer paper stenciling fun? We should do it at the reunion.

    Cute models too.

Wow! How cool! I love the bags and skirts! I love AKA Family. How clever! Did Mary sew the t-shirt Emily is wearing with the American flag?

I can't believe how big Tessa is getting! She kind of reminds me of mom when mom was her age - a little toe head with delicate and sweet eyes, rosy cheeks, a jolly smile and wispy curls in the back.

  6. Yay for your blog update! I have been checking your blog religiously, anxiously awaiting some photos of your new home. These adorable skirts and bags and especially cute kids were well worth the update but will you please end my suspense already? :) Let's see that new house and hear your thoughts on your new neighborhood, etc.
Thanks for the comments on my blog. I am always excited to see that you left a message. My sister made that adorable "Lucy" blanket and my other sister made those adorable red booties. I think my sisters got all the homemaking skills.
Hope all is going well with you guys. Can't believe summer is almost over and our kiddos will be back in school. Time flies when you're having fun.
