Kari and I desire a nice looking place, but can't quite stomach the high prices for nice looking furniture. The solution: refurbishing good quality used stuff.
We had a particularly good find the other day. $30 for a 3 drawer dandy from Marla and Homer's "Treasure Chest." (Homer even delivered it). The pics below show the progress. It will be for the kids room. More to come when we finish antiquing the corners and putting knobs on the drawers. Color: Cherry Chocolate from Ace Hardware.

So does this Homer guy have more furniture? Is this a do-it-yourself type thingy?
ReplyDeleteThey have more stuff, but its pretty sparce. I know they have a lot of bunk beds, but they didn't look like very good quality. Its like a hole in the wall used furniture place. I think we lucked out a bit with the dresser. If you're going to go soon let me know because Marla said they were going to start Karaoke and live music in the back (Homer plays the guitar. Could be pretty swingin'. . . Its a small purple building on the east side of state street south of the Provo cemetary.
